Did you know that oil pastels never actually dry? This rocked my OCD world. The medium is suspended in mineral oil and cures to a point without actually drying completely. Fuck. Crazy that you never hear this and can't find oil paint sticks in any craft store.
Long story messy and smudgy and shortish, Oil sicks are to date my favorite medium to work with, granted the drying time isn't years. Shoutout Shiva paint sticks for bringing me back to finger painting.
I painted this fan favorite after moving to southeast Atlanta to continue studying advertising in 2021.
So it's been a good year and some change by now in regards to my painting journey. Keep in mind that although the paintings throughout this collection are timelined, I was exploring and experimenting with almost all of the collections seen within this portfolio to date.
