December 10, 2021. Atlanta, Georgia. Acrylic on Canvas. 36x36in.

This painting is the first of the ever-growing and never-ending collection: The InBetween. I created this work in southeast, Atlanta; the original hangs in my room today. These paintings contrast the loudness and pace of my other work, slowing me down and grounding my creative process. After playing with just lines, as seen pejoratively in the collection, Beside The Point, the flush edges and panels of The InBetween collection came together in a dream that I had.
I cherish my dreams and the gifts they present to me and I am grateful to be able to occasionally bring forth the skill necessary to portray such visions. It would take some major convincing to ever part with this dear original. With that being said, each painting in this series is eventually named after the buyer. It's an honor to have my work hanging in the homes of my collectors, but for whatever reason, the honor feels higher when buyers hang these beautiful portals in their sacred spaces.
